With this new collection, Ray Ban is committed to a more ecological approach, offering its iconic models as well as new frames made from responsible materials.
Ray-Ban Bio-Based frames
The Bio-Based acetate used in these frames is partly made from plant sources such as cotton or wood pulp, and contains 67% bio-sourced carbon.
Bio-Based Nylon offers 57% bio-sourced carbon (castor oil) as a raw material, replacing fossil-based materials.
For children's models that contain rubber elements, these will also find 29% bio-Based rubber from vegetable sources.
Ray-Ban Bio-Based lenses
Non-polarised lenses also have a more responsible composition thanks to bio-castor oil nylon with a 40% bio-based carbon content of plant origin (castor oil).
Polarising lenses are made from polycarbonate, a mixture of standard fossil raw materials and plant sources. The polycarbonate will therefore be made from at least 60% bio-circular, i.e. a raw material derived from biological residues.
The case is also made from responsible materials, and the box is made entirely from recycled paper.
